K-8

faith formation

Nurturing the spiritual life of a child requires a partnership between their parents and parish. Recognizing this importance, St Mary now offers more options to our Faith Formation families. Traditional Catechesis (ELFF) is for children enrolled in grades K-8. Second graders will be enrolled in sacrament preparation unless otherwise noted.

Home Activities

Catechists may send home a weekly Faith Formation activity, and parents are encouraged to participate in all of their children’s Faith Formation opportunities, both at home and in the community. Families are encouraged to attend and participate in the weekly Sunday Liturgy. Being a witness to your faith at home and in the parish is an important piece of your child’s spiritual development! The same commitment is emphasized by receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation on a regular basis.

TextBooks

Students are issued one copy of the class materials at the beginning of the school year. Students are expected to bring their class materials to and from class and complete the Home Activities assigned to them. Parents are responsible for the textbook and all required materials for their children. If your child loses their class materials or Bible, it is the parent’s responsibility to purchase a replacement set.

Students will use the Word of Life program from Augustine Institute. Families can check out the program here, and student portals will be available after class sessions begin.
